Campus Athlete Profile with Garrett Denning – Presented by Advanced Physical Therapy

Garrett Denning participates in football and track at Campus High School and was chosen for the Campus School District Athlete Profile.

Denning has an extremely active regimen for both sports.

“The training for football is strenuous and starts just after the state track meet in May,” Denning said. “Camps and weights go all throughout the summer until the first games of the fall. Track training starts in the winter for me and I keep lifting while starting to run more workouts and work on hurdles.”

Winning the 6A 300 hurdles is by far the memory that stands out over the rest in Denning’s athletic career.

“The thing that stood out was that it just felt like another race,” Denning said. “It meant more but in reality I had to do the same thing I did last week and the week before.”

Denning is a student in the IB program, so his academic schedule is rigorous. He was also a part of the Screaming Stampede for basketball games.

His future plans include going to Kansas State Polytechnic in Salina and completing the Professional Pilot Program to hopefully be a test or commercial pilot.
