Kaason Thomas was chosen as the Campus Underclassmen to Watch. Thomas is an important piece on the Colts basketball team.
So far this season, Thomas has had to take on a new role, which has been difficult at times.
“My season so far has been a huge learning experience, learning and adjusting from what I can and can’t do at the varsity level,” Thomas said. “As a team we are 0-3 (at press time) but as we get healthier, I feel like the team is starting to come together and build the chemistry that we need.”
Campus was highly thought of in the preseason but struggled to open the season. Thomas said he is starting to see things turn around.
“Without a doubt I believe once we get healthy and come together as a team, we should be a pretty good team,” Thomas said.
Being an explosive athlete is Thomas’ top strength.
“Some of my strengths are driving and finishing, on ball defense and hustle,” Thomas said. “Some of my weaknesses are shooting, and off ball defense.”
Thomas has aspirations of playing big time college basketball and then has a professional career, but if that doesn’t work out, he would like to be a chef.
