VYPE: What are your goals for yourself and your team this season and what are your personal goals this year and how is the season going?
Alexis: My personal goals for this year is to stay as involved as I can with the team. With me not being able to play and be out there with them I want to be able to still be there with them! The season is going good. The team is currently 2-2 so they are off to a good start!
VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?
Alexis: The most fun I had last year was just being a part of the team. We had great chemistry and got along so well, and I hope that’s what we will continue to have this year!
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade or coach and why?
Alexis: My favorite teacher from school would have to be Curtiss, he’s one of the PE teachers and was the girl’s basketball coach my freshman and sophomore year. He was always encouraging and even after he stepped down from being the basketball coach he was still encouraging and supportive and told me what I should work on and was always someone I could go to if I had any questions or needed to talk!
VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
Alexis: My favorite athletic memory would have to be Junior year when I got second team shortstop. That was my first year back from my first ACL tear and I felt I was really working hard and putting in the extra work so I could come back and be better than I was and to show people that if you have a setback like that to just come back and work hard and people with notice and you’ll see the improvement in yourself!
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
Alexis: The person who has had the biggest impression on me would have to be Abby Araiza, she’s only a sophomore but last year we clicked, and we encouraged each other to always do better. no matter if it’s during softball, basketball, or just in our personal lives, I could honestly say she’s one of my closest friends!
VYPE: Who on your team has the best impression of your coach and who says the funniest things during games?
Alexis: I don’t know who would have the best impression of our softball coach but Cassidy probably says the funniest things during a game, she’s just an airhead and had a fun and funny personality!
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?
Alexis: If I could take a vacation anywhere it would have to be Florida, it’s nice and beautiful there and if I could take anyone, I would have to take my sister because she’s never been!
VYPE: If we gave you 500 dollars and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, how would you spend it?
Alexis: If I had 500 dollars and had one hour to spend it I would probably give it back to the kids who can’t afford clothes, food, sports equipment, and etc. I would just want to give back to people in need.
VYPE: Here is your chance to say hello, goodbye or thank you to anyone you wish.
Alexis: I want to say thanks to all my coaches from the years! First Darrin Paxton who has been my travel ball coach since I was 10 or 12, Josh Curtiss who was my freshman and sophomore basketball coach, next Robbie Wright who was my freshman to senior basketball coach, Nicole Peschel who was my senior year basketball coach, and Doug Stanley who was one of my softball coaches when I was a little kid and was my high school coach all 4 years! Coaches always have a big impact on an athlete’s life and all of my coaches were always there for me and encouraged me! So again, I’d like to say Thank You!
I also thank Dennis Munk, the athletic trainer!
