VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?
One major personal goal I have for myself this year is to finally graduate high school. It has been definitely an experience for me. I can not wait to see what comes next for me outside of high school.
VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?
Probably the most fun I have had in the past year was going to Colorado with my family over the summer. I got to see family I have not seen in over five years. I was so grateful to see all of them and make some fun memories.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade, and why?
My favorite teacher would probably have to be my eighth-grade English teacher, Mrs.Alexander. She helped me through so many rough patches, and she could always put a smile on my face even if I was a pain to her. I will never forget her.
VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
My favorite athletic memory would have to be my freshman year at sub-state. Although we didn’t get the outcome we wanted, we played our hearts out. All of the seniors in my freshman year were such big inspirations to me. It was hard seeing them go.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
The teammate that left the biggest impression on me would probably have to be Jalena Escoto. She was our setter, and all of the heart she put in gave me the power to get through some rough times on the court. She always picked me up and never let me get to my worst. She will always have a special place in my heart, being my setter.
VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?
My favorite part about being a part of the Campus High School volleyball team would most definitely have to be the friendships. No matter how good someone is, I feel as though having that chemistry with all of your teammates not only possibly improves your skill but how you mentally play the game. I made friendships with people I never would’ve thought I’d talk to. The girls younger than me want someone they can look up to, and I wanted to be that someone for them. So friendships would have to be my all-time favorite part about being a part of this team.
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation. Where do you go, and who do you take with you?
If I could go on a summer vacation, I would choose Greece. Greece has such beautiful scenery, and the sunsets are immaculate! I would definitely bring my best friend, Addison Swinger, because we have been by each other’s sides for over 5 years, and I never would’ve asked for a better friend.
VYPE: If we gave you $500 and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, what would you spend it on?
If I was given $500 to spend in the next 24 hours, I would give $300 to my mom because no matter what, she would always find a way to pay for something I wanted or needed. She has never failed me, and I never want her to feel like she did in any way. It is also good to spend money on yourself because making sure you are happy is one of the most important things you could for yourself. I would probably get some new clothes and hair ties because, man, I lose those things like nothing else.
VYPE: Do you participate in any community service projects?
I have volunteered at assisted living homes in the past and also volunteered for food for kids at my church. Being able to put smiles on everyone’s faces made me even happier. Helping other people get what they need is the least I could do for them. I spent some of that time getting to know a few new people, and I would say it was a great experience.
VYPE: What Clubs or Campus groups are you involved with and why?
At school, I’m involved with Link Crew, which is led by a few teachers at campus. We help the freshman get around the school and make them feel welcome. I’m also involved with Circle of Friends, which is also another club run by some teachers at my school. We volunteer at places with our students that are in special education, and we also just have a little bit of fun with them doing various activities that they all enjoy. I love being a part of both clubs, and it makes me feel so accomplished with my high school career.
VYPE: Are you involved in academic excellence activities such as the National Honor Society, Student Council, or other academic clubs?
