Q&A with Campus’ Brock Jensen – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Advanced Physical Therapy

VYPE caught up with Campus’ Football/Track participant Brock Jensen to discuss his athletic career.

VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?

My personal goals for the year are to get stronger and get as many college credits before football starts in July and to maybe hopefully get to a point where I can throw in college as well as play football.

VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?

The most fun that I had over the last year was beating Salina South in football, breaking a nearly 4 year- long home losing streak.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade, and why?

Besides my dad, I would have to say that my favorite teacher ever was my band teacher, Ms. Hughes. She cares for all her students, even if they get on her nerves.

VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?

My favorite athletic memory would have to be waking up at 6:00 am every morning over the summers. I didn’t like living in it, but it has become something I miss.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

The teammate that has left the biggest impression on me is probably Butcher. He made me realize how much potential I have just by being himself and pushing me. We’re both going to Friends University this fall to play football for the next 4 years together.

VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?

My favorite part of being on this team is how successful we can be and how unsuccessful we can be. Whether we’re winning a meet by lots of points or if we’re losing a meet by lots of points, we do it together.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation. Where do you go and who do you take with you?

If I could pick any place, I would go to Mexico with my family and friends.

VYPE: If we gave you $500 and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, what would you spend it on?

If I had $500 to spend in 24 hours, I would get 10 friends and we would go to a major city that is within driving distance and find things to do there.

VYPE: Do you participate in any community service programs? I help with projects at our church and I will be helping my dad run our free physical night at Campus High School next month.

VYPE: What clubs or campus groups are you involved in and why?

I am involved in National Honor Society (NHS) and the Kansas Association of Youth (KAY). I’m involved in these because they look really good on a resume and give me good experiences for the future.

VYPE: Are you involved in any academic excellence activities such as National Honor Society, Student Council, or other academic clubs?

Yes, I am involved in our NHS program here at Campus. I was inducted at the end of my sophomore year.
