Campus’ Emily Dice – Athlete Spotlight Presented By USD 261, Haysville Schools

By Hayden Swope

Senior Emily Dice has spent a large part of her life playing the game she loves and being able to play for Campus, was something she will always cherish.

Dice was chosen as the Haysville School District Athlete of the Month.

“I’ve lived in Haysville my whole life and I would highly recommend it to anyone,” Dice said. “The Haysville School District has done many great things for me and my peers. I have had many amazing and memorable experiences from grade school to high school. I have developed many great relationships with some amazing teachers and coaches along the way.”

The honorable mention all-league third baseman spent the summer and winter working out with her travel team, all to prepare for spring ball.

“I did a lot to prepare for my senior season including doing winter workouts with my travel team,” Dice said. “I really focused hard on improving my hitting and slapping.”

While setting goals for her senior year, Dice hopes to be able to look back on it and remember the good times.

“Some of my goals for the season include trying to make it to state, beating my previous high school batting averages, and having as much fun as I possibly can,” Dice said.

Not only a leader on the field, but Dice has also proven herself in the classroom.

“I’m a part of the National Honor Society, Kansas Honors Scholar, Link Crew, I’m in the top ten percent of my class, I’m a part of the National Society of High School Scholars, involved in Youth Entrepreneurship, and I am a Super Colts Coach,” Dice said

Dice plans to continue her softball journey after high school.

“I plan to attend Hutch Community College to play softball and graduate with my associates in meteorology,” Dice said.
