VYPE sat down with Campus’ Ryan Saloman to learn more about who he is.
VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?
My personal goals for this year would be to graduate highschool. Nothing special really. I would also like to end my highschool football career on a high note.
VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?
The most fun I had last year would have to be anytime I’m hanging out with my friends. Whenever we are all hanging out, it’s always a good time.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade, and why?
My favorite teacher would have to be my band teacher Ms Hughes. She will be one of my teachers for a 4th time next year. She is more than just a band teacher. She has taught me and many other band members many valuable life lessons such as how to write a proper email and how to get ready for college and the real world. Miss hughes is that good of a teacher to the point where I’ve have more than twice a school year! Anyone can learn a thing or two from her because she knows what she’s talking about.
VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
My favorite athletic memory memory is from 8th grade football at HMS. Specifically our against Circle Middle School. We totally shut them out, winning 36-0. The whole game everyone was having fun, going hard, and playing well.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
The teammate who has left the biggest impression on me would have to be Chris VanDyke. He recently moved to Haysville last year. Even though he was new, over time we became great friends. And seeing how hard he worked and how much effort he put in, I knew I needed to step it up. We are still friends and we are both working hard.
VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?
My favorite part about being on this team is the people. We are all family here. All feelings that are felt are mostly mutual throughout everyone. The happiness from a fun practice or a win. Even the sadness of a tough loss. I enjoy playing for this team because the players and coaches make it so enjoyable.
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation. Where do you go, and who do you take with you?
For a summer vacation, I’d have to go with Japan. It’s basically the home of all video games, mainly the home if Nintendo, but there are other reasons to visit like the food and scenery. Who I’m taking with me would have to be my family.
VYPE: If we gave you $500 and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, what would you spend it on?
I honestly don’t have a clue what I’d do with $500. It’ll probably go into my college fund.
VYPE: Do you participate in any community service projects?
During school, no. I don’t participate in any community service projects. However, starting last year the football team was to help setup and break down a local fireworks stand. I have gone several times to help out.
VYPE: What Clubs or Campus groups are you involved with and why?
I am not apart of any direct clubs or groups. When I first started highschool, I did want to be in one. However none of them appealed to me, so I just didn’t join any. Although if you count being in sports: Football and Baseball(freshmen year) and marching band a group, then those are the only groups I have been apart of.
VYPE: Are you involved in academic excellence activities such as the National Honor Society, Student Council, or other academic clubs?
I am also not involved in any academic excellence activities. Being apart of these groups would most likely help me get into college, but honestly I didn’t really want to get into any of these.
