Q&A with Campus’ Londyn Ysidro – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Advanced Physical Therapy

Campus softball player Londyn Ysidro spoke to VYPE in a recent interview.

VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?

My personal goals for the year are graduating high school and spending as much time with my family and friends before I go off to college. I would also like to improve my pitching and hitting and just over all game.

VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?

My favorite athletic memory would be when I hit my very first home run. I hit it off of my best friend in a weekend tournament and the very next day I hit my second home run.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

The teammate that left the biggest impression on me is Gabby Stauffer. We have played together since we were little then eventually going our separate ways. We finally got to play together once high school started and she’s always there pushing me to do better on and off the field.

VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?

I would have to say my favorite part is my teammates. I’ve know most them since tee-ball and have enjoyed growing up and playing with them!

VYPE: Do you participate in any community service projects?

Yes I do. Every year the high school girls softball team host a future Lady Colts softball clinic. We help all the girls from elementary to middle school age that sign up and teach them various skills and techniques to help improve their game!

VYPE: What Clubs or Campus groups are you involved with and why?

The groups at campus I am involved in are Softball, golf, Stompin’ Grounds, and Channel 060.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?

Softball has taught me responsibility and patience.

VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?

The best advice I have been given is “always try to be the best version of you” from my parents.

VYPE: Who inspires you and why?

I would have to say my biggest inspiration is my own brother. I always watched him play baseball and wanted to be as good as he is. I always try to go out with the same amount of confidence he had while playing!
