Campus’ Kyra Caudillo – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Rachel Janes Shelter Insurance

By Blake Chadwick

Coming into her senior season, Kyra Caudillo has established herself as one of the key leaders for the Campus High School softball program.

“She is a responsible, respectful, and dependable young woman who holds herself to high standards,” head coach Emily Prichard said. “In the classroom, she is focused and motivated and consistently puts strong effort into her work.”

Caudillo’s connection and love for the game began at an early age, and her passion for softball has continued to grow throughout her career.

“I’ve been playing softball since I was five years old, so about 12 years now,” Caudillo said.

Her mindset remains focused on improvement while also enjoying the competitive moments with her teammates.

“When I’m practicing, I want to improve,” Caudillo said. “When I’m playing, I want to showcase my skills to the best of my ability and have fun with my team while trying to win.”

As a senior, Caudillo has set both personal and team goals for the season. She hopes to finish her high school career strong while helping the program continue to grow.

“My personal goal is to finish this year strong and have fun,” Caudillo said. “I also want to leave an impression on the girls younger than me. A team goal this year is to go to state, and we plan to do that by practicing hard and working together as a team. We know we have the skills and want to show everyone that.”

On the field, Prichard says Caudillo provides stability in one of the most demanding positions.

“As a softball player and catcher, she is the steady presence behind the plate that every team needs,” Prichard said. “She is coachable, receptive to feedback, and constantly working to improve her skills. She leads by example through her work ethic, competitiveness, and positive attitude.”
