Campus High School post player Andrew Howard enters his senior season as a starter after playing a lot of minutes last year as a junior. Howard has been called the “Unsung Hero” of this Campus team.
We caught up with Howard just before the season got underway to learn more about this senior.
VYPE: What does it mean to you to hear coach call you the unsung hero of this team and how do you define that term?
Howard: To me being the unsung hero means someone who’s willing to play the right way and do the little things even if they aren’t attention- grabbing. It means a lot to here that from my coach. I try to go out on the court and do everything I can to help the team every game, and it requires constant attention to be able to try and make an impact every second I’m on the court.
VYPE: What do you love most about your team and teammates?
Howard: Our team is always helping each other and building each other up to be better players. I love that we’re able to improve our teammate’s games and all put our effort together towards making a better team overall.
VYPE: Is there a game or opponent you are looking forward to playing this year?
Howard: I look forward to playing Derby at home on senior night. Our games against Derby always seem to have incredible energy from both our fans and players, and with the game being on senior night I know everybody is going to show out and the whole building will be packed. I think it’ll be a great game and a perfect senior night for the rest of the seniors on the team.
