Coming into the 2022 season, head coach Mary Askren knew a challenging schedule would be tough, but she has been proud of their effort with a few games in the books. Coach Askren said the team and the coaching staff are focused on the positives as they continue to develop and grow as a team.
Taryn Kondo (Sr.) is one of seven seniors on the team and has made her presence felt this season from her outside hitter position. Kondo has recorded several kills early in the season, hitting seven total against Liberal HS. Kaylee Martinez (Sr.) has played her libero position well cleaning up 19 digs against Liberal. Jalena Escoto (Sr.) has played well at setter and recorded four assists versus Hutchinson.
Other seniors on the team include Makenzie O’Bryan (MH), Ashlyn Creighton (DS), Rylie Hudson (DS), Caitlyn Smith (RH), and Bailey Pearce (RH). Campus has one lone junior on the team in BreAna Garrett-Tillemans (MH). Garrett- Tillemans notched seven blocks against Liberal.
Three sophomores are in the lineup. They are Emmie Schrag (S), Dallas Whitman (OH), and Tilly Slay (RH).
Assisting coach Askren this season is coach Julie Balderas and the team managers are
Katelyn Lamkins and Sommer Fisher.
