Q&A with Campus’ Kyle Butcher – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Advanced Physical Therapy

VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?

Ever since 7th grade, I have wanted to be in the shrine bowl, and I achieved that this year but for the future, I want to have a great first year in college playing for one of the best coaches I know.

VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?

The most fun I had in the last year was my senior football season because I played on both sides of the ball for nearly every snap of the game. I also had fun going to elementary schools and holding football amps for the kids, teaching them skills, and playing games with them.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade, and why?

My favorite teacher would have to be Colby Leeper because I have had him every year since I was a freshman, and he understands athletes better than anyone. He is just a great guy that you can joke around with and a great example of what a former Campus football player stands for.

VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?

My favorite athletic memory would have to be my sophomore year first game of the season, and I am starting for the O line. Last season the team went 1-8 and looked to have a better season. After a very close game, we came out on top, and I won my first starting varsity game.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

A teammate that has left the biggest impression on me would have to be Christan Sicard; he is one of the best athletes that I have ever got to play with. He pushes everyone to do their best and is the heart and soul of the defense for Campus. He is a great teammate and leader.

VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?

My favorite part of being on this team would have to be because of the coaches. They push me to be the best athlete that I can be.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation. Where do you go, and who do you take with you?

If I could pick any place to go on summer vacation, I would go deep-sea fishing because I have never been to the ocean, and I love fishing. I would take my dad because me and him fish together all the time, and it is kind of our thing.

VYPE: If we gave you $500 and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, what would you spend it on?

If I got $500 and had 24 hours to spend it I would go to sams and Walmart to get a year’s supply of snacks.

VYPE: Do you participate in any community service projects?

One community service project that I do is going to elementary schools and teaching and playing football with them so they can interact with the older athletes and get excited for when it is their turn to be a high school football player.

VYPE: What Clubs or Campus groups are you involved with and why?

A club that I am involved in on campus is channel 060 and which is news broadcasting for the school. And I do this because of the teacher.
