Q&A with Campus’ Hayley Buller – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Visit Wichita

VYPE recently spoke to Campus’ Hayley Buller to learn more about who she is.

VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?

My personal goals for this year are to PR at state and save up money for college and life.

VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?

The most fun I have had in the last year was probably swim season. I had a great season and made lots of great memories.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade, and why?

My favorite teacher is Heather Swinger. I have known her personally for many years now and she has always been super supportive in my academic, athletic, and personal life.

VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?

My favorite athletic memory was breaking a school record my sophomore, junior, and senior year with my relay team.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

The teammates that have left the biggest impact on me are Sayler and Elle. I have swam with them and competed against them for most of my swim career. They are by far the most supportive people both inside and outside of the pool.

VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?

My favorite part of being a part of the swim team is the people on the team with me. We always have fun and push each other to do our best.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation. Where do you go, and who do you take with you?

If I could go any place for vacation, I would go to the Galapagos Islands with my family.

VYPE: If we gave you $500 and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, what would you spend it on?

If I were given $500 that I had to spend within a day, I would pay off my student debts first, then spend the rest on new things for my room.

VYPE: Do you participate in any community service projects?

I do not participate in any community service projects.

VYPE: What Clubs or Campus groups are you involved with and why?

At Campus, I am/have been involved in Tri-M, Circle of Friends, FCCLA, Scholars Bowl, and Link Crew.

VYPE: Are you involved in academic excellence activities such as the National Honor Society, Student Council, or other academic clubs?

The academic excellence activity that I am involved in is Tri-M, which is National Music Honors Society. Students in choir, band, and orchestra get to do community service hours for the activity, as well as going to different locations to play our music.
