Campus’ Alaa Alamood – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by KTAG

Athletes have moments during their career that they will never forget. Whether it is a milestone accomplishment, a championship, or another big win, these moments are key moments for the athlete.

“My top memory of my career so far would have to be scoring my first varsity soccer goal,” said Alaa Alamood. “We were playing in Goddard. It was such a great feeling.”

A senior, Alamood plays center back and center attacking midfielder for the Campus soccer team. He says that he loves the game of soccer, and he looks up to former French soccer player, Zinedine Zidane.

“I look up to him because I love the style he plays,” he said. “I try to model my game after him.”

Campus head soccer coach, Casey Reece, says that Alamood is a solid team player and is expected to have a big season.

“Alaa has put together an impressive High School career at Campus High School,” Reece said. “He will have lettered all four years after this season and has already received First Team All-League as a midfielder in AVCTL Div. 1 the past two season. Last season, he received All-State HM Midfield as well. Defenses will be giving Alaa a lot of attention this season, but I believe he is still poised to have an MVP caliber season.”

With this being his final high school season, Alamood already has his plans ready for his post-high school days.

“After graduation, I plan to attend Oakland University,” he said. “I will be playing soccer and also working toward earning my business degree.”

Alamood is thankful for the people that have helped him along the way but says that there is one person that has had the biggest impact on him.

“My dad has had a great influence on my life,” he said. “He has been supporting me since day one and there is no way I would be where I am today without him.”
