Q&A with Campus’ Kiley Maier -Athlete Spotlight – Presented by WSU Tech

Campus athlete Kiley Maier recently interviewed with VYPE to discuss her life.

VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?

My personal goals this year are to continue working on my golf game and maintain my 4.0 GPA.

VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?

The most fun I have had in the last year is going to Table Rock Lake and also doing traveling golf this summer.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade, and why?

My favorite teacher would probably be Coach Peschel my old weights teacher, she taught me that it’s okay to fail sometimes as long as we get back up and try again.

VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?

My favorite athletic memory is when I finally shot in the 70s at a golf tournament.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

The teammate that has left the biggest impression on me would be Franka, a foreign exchange student last year and we ran track together, she would always impress me with how positive she was during practice and at meets. She could have had the worst day but she always came to track with a smile and ready to work.

VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?

My favorite part about being a part of this team is how competitive we are and we are always up to challenge one another.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation. Where do you go, and who do you take with you?

If I could go to any place for a summer vacation I would go to Bora Bora, and I would take my parents and best friend Charli with me.

VYPE: If we gave you $500 and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, what would you spend it on?

If I was given $500 dollars and had to spend it in 24 hours, I would probably get new golf shoes and take my parents out for a nice dinner.

VYPE: Do you participate in any community service projects?

Over the summer I was a prairie schooner mate, in which I was an ambassador for Wichita River Fest, we got to go all over Wichita and volunteer for many types of events.

VYPE: What Clubs or Campus groups are you involved with and why?

At Campus, I am involved in link crew, super colts coach, kay club, sign language club, and circle of friends.

VYPE: Are you involved in academic excellence activities such as the National Honor Society, Student Council, or other academic clubs?
